Wine Review - Domaine de la Remejeanne

Domaine de la Remejeanne

Everyone knows that the wines of the Rhone Valley are world class, and this privately owned vineyard is no exception, producing wines of the highest quality.

Situated on the western slopes of the Cotes du Rhone (near Orange in the Gard, Languedoc-Roussillon), there are many geographical factors that combine to produce the superb freshness of the wines, such as a variety of different soils, exposed and sheltered slopes and the effects of the Mistral wind - all naturally contributing to the growth of the vines. However, it is the altitude of the Domaine on the upper slopes which leads to crisp, rich and fruity wines which are second to none.

The wines receive well-earned accolades in many of the wine guides, with prices ranging from 7.00€ to 18.00€ for their crisp and fruity rosé wines to their rich reds, matured in oak. Not forgetting their elegant whites with a nose of flowers and citrus, with fruit and balance on the palate.

Apart from their local popularity at fine Provencal restaurants, wines from here travel far and wide to many European countries and now to increasing markets in Russia, and especially to China.

Remy and Ria Klein and son Olivier await the pleasure of your company, to sample their wines at the Cave where they are open all year (weekends by appointment). They invite you to a guided tour of their vineyards in the summer months every Thursday morning, with wine tasting and a lunch of home-grown treats from the extensive buffet for a modest price. You can also stay at their B&B (reservation necessary). A treat beyond measure!
